WARRANTY HIGHLIGHTS
One Year Wall to Wall NVH Builder’s Coverage
The first twelve months after the date of possession are considered the builder’s warranty period. During this time period, New Victorian Homes will repair any defects in materials and labour that we supplied in the construction of your home.
We have our own warranty specialist, who will connect with you thirty days after closing to run through any questions and concerns. When your first year anniversary approaches we will send you a form to complete, noting any new or outstanding issues. We will then book a year-end walkthrough of your home, to review these items together and coordinate any warranty repair work needed.
After the first year, the warranty coverage of your new home is provided directly by Atlantic Home Warranty as follows:
Delivery and Distribution Systems Warranty
For a period of two years, the warranty provides coverage for defects in materials and labour relating to the electrical and plumbing of your delivery and distribution systems of the home.
Major Structural Defect
10-year Major Structural Defect coverage. The coverage available is $70,000 including engineering fees. There is no deductible or co-payment required by the homeowner.
Living-Out Allowance
Provides living-out expenses incurred by the homeowner in the event that the home becomes uninhabitable due to a major structural defect.
Conciliation
During the first year, if a dispute should arise between the builder and the homeowner, Atlantic Home Warranty will provide a conciliation service. This may be requested by the homeowner or the builder.
Please Note: Condominium buildings are limited to five years coverage from Atlantic Home Warranty. Depending on the year your home was completed, coverage may vary.
